2. Create the body.
Take a handful of white wool roving and roll it into a ball. Use your fingers to shape the ball into a teardrop shape. This will be the body of your dog.
3. Add the legs.
Roll four small balls of white wool roving. These will be the legs. Attach the legs to the body by poking them into the wool with your felting needle. Use small, jabbing motions to felt the legs in place.
4. Add the tail.
Roll a small piece of brown wool roving into a cone shape. This will be the tail. Attach the tail to the body by poking it into the wool with your felting needle.
5. Add the head.
Take a handful of white wool roving and roll it into a ball. Use your fingers to shape the ball into a round shape. This will be the head of your dog.
6. Add the muzzle.
Roll a small piece of black wool roving into a cone shape. This will be the muzzle. Attach the muzzle to the head by poking it into the wool with your felting needle.
7. Add the eyes.
Use a sharp needle to poke two small holes in the head for the eyes. Fill the holes with small balls of black wool roving.
8. Add the ears.
Roll two small triangles of brown wool roving. These will be the ears. Attach the ears to the head by poking them into the wool with your felting needle.
9. Add the details.
Use your scissors to trim the wool to shape the dog's body, legs, tail, head, muzzle, eyes, and ears. You can also add additional details, such as a collar, scarf, or hat.
10. Finish your dog.
Once you are happy with the way your dog looks, use a small amount of glue to secure the wool in place. You can also use embroidery floss to add details, such as whiskers or eyebrows.
Tips:
- Use a variety of different colors of wool roving to create unique dogs.
- Experiment with different shapes and sizes to create different breeds of dogs.
- Add pipe cleaners to the legs and tail to make them poseable.
- Use your imagination and have fun!
